In 2007 IdentityMine was chosen as one of 4 ISVs selected to participate in the newly minted Surface Partner Program. We immediately jumped at the opportunity to learn about Microsoft's latest product and given it's close technology ties to Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) we knew there was a new opportunity to apply our leadership in design and development.

Frameworks + Solutions

Microsoft Surface Enterprise Framework

Building Microsoft Surface applications from scratch can be a daunting task. We are able to ramp up on Microsoft Surface projects much quicker due to the heavy lifting done by the libraries included in the framework.

Wine Guide

Wine Guide puts a new twist on wine tasting. First debuted at the Tesco Wine Fair in London in September 2008, the Wine Guide Application allows users to interact with the vendor to learn additional information about the wine they are tasting. In addition, the vendor has the ability to collect tasting feedback via user-selected tags used to describe the wine. This application turns the passive act of tasting wine into an entertaining event for visitors, while also providing valuable feedback to the host.

Air Hockey

As part of the Microsoft Surface Enterprise Framework, our team created a Physics Panel that allows a developer to define a world of objects, then let the panel handle the complex physics of events such as collisions and acceleration. The Microsoft Surface Unit makes a perfect game table, and what better game to play than Air Hockey?

For PDC 2008, IdentityMine had a total of three Surface units at the event. To help promote our products and services on these installations, we created an interactive multi-touch photo viewing application which allowed users to explore our various projects and offerings.

CES Snowboard

Snowboard allows customers to design and customize a snowboard in a fun, highly interactive way, while being intuitive as well. Personalization and customization are major features that consumers are interested in these days, and the Snowboard app allows the user to do this with the tip of their finger. A person can walk into a snowboard shop and grab a tag for any snowboard model. When the ticket is placed onto the Microsoft Surface, it triggers a full customization interface. Visitors can design their snowboard with any color, decal, binding and board model they desire.

CES Winebar

Wine Bar allows customers to go beyond ordering a glass of wine by learning more about varietals through fun, engaging elements which evolve from the Surface application. It was designed for a customer in a wine bar or restaurant setting. Customers can sit down and browse through hundreds of different wines, narrowing their search by color, acidity, body and depth. When the wine is placed down, the glass has a tag that is instantly recognized. The customer then can find out interesting details about the wine they are drinking, such as winery information and location, the grape, and the year it was made.

CES On Stage with Bill Gates

During CES, Microsoft had a kiosk specially dedicated to Surface. They showcased both of the demos created by IdentityMine. Attendees were able to watch as Surface was introduced to the public. During his final keynote to the industry at the 2008 CES, Bill Gates chose to highlight Microsoft Surface. IdentityMine was pleasantly surprised when Gates specifically chose Snowboard out of all the Surface apps to be the focus of his keynote speech. You can view the highlights of the CES Keynote which showcase the Surface Snowboard application by visiting the 2008 International CES Virtual Pressroom and selecting View Keynote Highlights.
