Varian Medical Systems, Inc. is the world's leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytherapy. The company supplies informatics software for managing comprehensive cancer clinics, radiotherapy centers and medical oncology practices.

Varian was exhibiting at the annual ASTRO Conference, and needed to showcase the vision for their new interactive video offering.

IdentityMine created an interactive video experience that worked across platforms, on Microsoft Surface, Tablets, and displays, as well as iPad and iTouch. The video experience enabled patients to interact with video and glossary content that would help them to better understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and courses of action. The interactions highlight terms and provide definitions; and allow users to pause, play, and scrub videos. Users can also select terms and jump to the point in the video that references those terms.

The experience allowed users to use their tablet device to control a second digital display so they could interact with the video on a large format screen.
