IdentityMine Teams up with N-trig to Expand their Hold in the Multi-Touch Market
Partnership Demonstrates a Continued Evolution in Natural User Interfaces (NUI)
TACOMA, WA (February 3, 2009) — IdentityMine, an expert user-experience company, announces a partnership with N-trig, providers of DuoSense™ technology, combining pen and capacitive touch in a single device, in order to extend the reach and compatibility of their software solutions.
IdentityMine is utilizing N-trig’s DuoSenseTM technology to support their IdentityMine Gesture Engine, which enables software developers to add multi-touch and gesture recognition capabilities to WPF based applications. N-trig’s DuoSense technology combines both pen and multi-touch functionality, enabling IdentityMine to build a set of gestures that are compatible across a wide variety of computing platforms.
"The IdentityMine Gesture Engine is built to support input from any number of different methods,” said Andrew Whiddett, CTO at IdentityMine. “By working directly with N-trig we are able to iterate quickly on new advancements in their hardware which makes for a more robust and feature rich platform.”
Touch and multi-touch technology advancements have changed the way in which people interface with computers. To strengthen and broaden the acceptance of this Hands-onTM technology, IdentityMine is currently working with outside Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to touch-enable future and existing products and software.
"With more OEMs adopting multi-touch as a standard approach to computing and building machines that are multi-touch enabled for consumers and the enterprise market, IdentityMine has chosen the perfect time to develop technologies suited to hands-on computingTM," said Lenny Engelhardt, VP of Business Development at N-trig. "We see this collaborative effort as the natural starting point for software developers to use when designing innovative applications that enable people to interact directly on-screen with their computer."
N-trig’s DuoSense digitizer recognizes both pen, touch and multi-touch giving users a more natural means with which to interface with their computers, allowing them to open files, manipulate images, access different applications, surf the web – using their fingers. N-trig’s touch technology is currently deployed in Dell’s Latitude XT, and was also recently launched on HP’s TouchSmart tx2.
