Back in June IdentityMine attended the SID2009 conference down in San Antonio, TX.  The conference was full of new innovations in touch technology and one of the new standout offerings was from 3M.  At the show they introduced a new Multi-Touch Developer Kit targeted at Windows 7 development(Full Press Release).  I had the opportunity to shoot some video of the kit in action which you will find below.  I found the responsiveness to be very good even when tracking of up to 10 touch points as demonstrated in the video.

The unique features of the platform as touted on their spec page are:

  • 10-finger multi-touch input
  • Pinch, expand and rotate functionality
  • Projected Capacitive touch technology utilizing a durable glass front surface
  • Less than 15ms touch response time for applications that are speed sensitive

Earlier this morning the UPS fairy arrived at our Seattle office and I had the crew snap some unboxing pictures to include in the video.  You can find them at the tail end of the video or over on our flickr set.
