There have been rumors circulating that Microsoft is talking to a number of cable providers (Comcast and Verizon) which will let Xbox owners use their console to watch television. This will eliminate the need for cable boxes and get rid of cluttered game consoles, DVD/Bluray, cable boxes, etc.

Although these are still rumors at this point, Digiday reports that reliable sources state that deals with Comcast and Verizon deals are imminent.

A Microsoft rep said, ""As we announced at E3, we are committed to bringing TV entertainment to Xbox around the world through partnerships with industry leading operator and content partners. We look forward to sharing more partner news in the near future, but we have nothing to announce at this time."

Only time will tell, but these "rumors" have my tech senses tingling.
